INFORMATION BOOKS – covering subjects such as Cookery, Arts, Geography, History, Sciences, Sports and Religion

REFERENCE BOOKS – including Encyclopedias, English Dictionaries, Foreign Language Dictionaries and Atlas Guides. Please note, most reference books are for use within the library only and are therefore not available for loan.
Magazines:
Students can borrow one of the many magazines from the Library for a maximum of one week . Again, there is no charge for this facility as long as magazines are returned on time. Examples of the different types of magazines available are:

BBC Focus & BBC Flipside(Science & Technology), BBC Wildlife, BBC Good Food, Lonely Planet and Philip Allan Updates (Sixth Form Resources)
Newspapers:
The Library stocks a large selection of daily and local newspapers for students to read within the Library. For example:

The Telegraph, The Guardian, The Times, The Independent and First News (for younger readers)
Foreign Language Resources:
Students have access to a large selection of foreign language resources from the Library , such as:

Foreign Language fiction and non fiction reading books which can be borrowed for up to three weeks

Newspapers and magazines including El Pais, Le Figaro & The German Times Newspapers (for use within the Library)
Study Guides:
Students have access to a large selection of Key Stage 3 and GCSE Study Guides, covering all the main subjects. All of these are for reference use within the library.
DVDs:
The Library stocks over 100 DVDs for students to borrow, including Classic Films, Comedies, Period Dramas and Adventure Movies. Students can take home one movie at a time (for a maximum of a week) without any charge.

Cyberia:
Cyberia is our popular lunch time computer club within the Library, Here the students are free to use a suite of 30 computers for study, research and completion of school work. Monitored and supported by our Cyber Clerk, students can use the computers to:

access the school computer network and their emails

use Microsoft XP programmes (such as Word, Excel and Publisher) to complete any school work or homework
-
use the Internet for research associated with their studies
Cyberia proves to be very busy most lunchtimes as it offers students an excellent facility to complete their work and study, whilst also being able to use the many other resources within the Library.
