The Physical Education (PE) Area is staffed by a dedicated team of well-qualified and specialist teachers, led by a management team under the overall direction of the Head of Department, Mr Heinrich Zimmermann.

The Head of Department has overall responsibility for all key stages and for the vision and ethos of the department, for curriculum development and staff development needs.

Subject Coordinators take responsibility for Key Stage 3 Coordinator - Tom Cuff, Key Stage 4 Coordinator - Ms Jackie Gregory, GCSE PE Coordinator - Mrs Judy Wybrow, GCSE Dance - Mrs Louise Coldham, Sixth form courses Coordinator - Mrs Louise Coldham and BTEC Coordinator - Mr Sean Crossley. 

Setting

In year 7 all students are taught in single sex groups. After October half term, students are split according to ability and remain in single sex groups. These sets continue throughout years 8 and 9, and are reviewed at the end of each summer term. Changes to groups can be made according to a student's performance and effort throughout the year.

Extra-Curricular

We offer a comprehensive range of extra-curricular activities during junior and senior lunch.  These include the following;

Autumn/Winter Terms:  

Rugby, Netball, Football, Table Tennis, Badminton, Trampoline and Getting Girls Active. After school, clubs for Cheerleading and Badminton are held.  Competition Gymnastics club is held before school.  

Spring/Summer Terms:  

Cricket, Rounders, Tennis, Swimming, Athletics, and Table Tennis. After school, clubs for Swimming and Trampoline.  Competition Gymnastics club is held before school.
