In Key stage 4 you will study the OCR Twenty First Century Science suite and we place an emphasis on scientific literacy - the knowledge and understanding which pupils need to make sense of the science they will meet in their everyday lives. The course leads to two GCSEs in Science.
In Year 10, all pupils will complete GCSE Core Science. This is taught as separate Biology, Chemistry and Physics units by specialist staff. Core Science is broken down into 9 modules which are examined in the June of year 10, through 3 unit exams. Experimental and investigative work is an important part of the course, with the controlled assessment tasks making up 25% of the total marks available. Listed below are the topics that you will be exploring as part of the Core Science course in Science lessons at the Anglo European School.

This course will lead into all levels of Sixth Form Science (A-Level, I.B. Standard and Higher Levels).
For Triple Science, this new course leads to three GCSEs - GCSE Biology, GCSE Chemistry, and GCSE Physics. This course is part of the Twenty First Century Science Suite and provides an opportunity for developing understanding of scientific explanations, how science works with particular relevance to professional scientists. The course is taught by specialist staff and is broken up into 7 modules for each subject.
Pupils will complete the modules as outlined in the Core and Additional Science GCSE's above, they will then move on to complete three extension modules.
